Health Advice for the Macao

Macao has a public healthcare system funded by taxes collected by the government from corporations and residents. The system provides medical and health services to all legal residents of the region free of charge, regardless of their occupation or age.

Macau is served by one major public hospital, the Hospital Conde S. Januário, and one major private hospital, the Kiang Wu Hospital, both located in Macau Peninsula, as well as a university-associated hospital called Macau University of Science and Technology Hospital in Cotai and a private hospital, the Macau Yinkui Hospital on the Macau Peninsula.

In addition to hospitals, Macau also has numerous health centres providing free basic medical care to residents. Consultation in traditional Chinese medicine is widely available.

Pharmacies and Medicine
You should not have any problems finding the needed medication in Macau, there are many pharmacies in the city, and are well-stocked in both western and traditional Chinese medicine. Over-the-counter medication can also be purchased in the popular health and beauty chains.
